The 2nd playoff was the eliminator match between ISLU and the Karachi Kings with the loser going home. Islamabad United won the toss and elected to bowl first because of the due factor that comes into play later on in the evening. Mohammad Irfan opened the bowling for Islamabad United with a brilliant maiden over setting the rhythm for the rest of the team. Karachi Kings started to lose wickets at regular intervals. The shining light was in the form of Mohammad Sami who took 5 wickets for the loss of 8 runs in his 4 overs. The Karachi Kings ended up with 111 for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
With an easy target, Dwayne Smith and Sharjeel Khan opened the batting for ISLU. The batsmen sought to end the game early with a few big hits around the park. The standout batsman was Brad Haddin who scored an unbeaten 52 off just 29 balls, sealing the fate of the Karachi Kings. ISLU will face tournament favorites Peshawar Zalmi for a place in the HBL PSL final.
