An all rounder with unlimited potential, Amad Butt is one of the rising stars of the PSL generation. Supremely fit and an exceptional fielder, he was picked by Wasim Akram as a twenty year old, and has gone on to be selected for the national team.
A batsman capable of hitting against any type of bowling and a medium pacer able to swing the ball both ways, Butt has just begun the journey of his career. While he has played a limited role in the PSL he has shown the ability to handle pressure – including a last ball win over Peshawar Zalmi in PSL2.
2016/17 was his breakout season in the domestic game. Playing for Habib Bank, Butt scored 379 runs in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (second only to Imran Farhat among HBL players), at an average of 29. He was also HBL’s highest wicket taker, with 39 dismissals at an average of just 16.
PSL 3 will be Butt’s third season with Islamabad United.
